Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it only illegal if you use title/resources in commercial purposes? CS2D is 100% free, so why is it still a problem to upload to steam?

This is a myth. Valve could actually just sue you if you upload their logo on any website. It doesnt matter if you get money from it or not. It's illegal.

Well but ofc they wont sue you if you do this just because they don't really care. But uploading a game with that much copyrighted stuff from Valve on Steam would be... well it would be DC's suicide.

So if DC wants to put CS2D on Steam he has to remove every copyrighted stuff. This does ofc also mean that he would have to rename the game.

@user SmD: Strike Counter 2D is born. DC could also use some arabic radio translations for tt and new american radio voices for ct (this isnt supposed to be racistic even if it sounds so)

What about editing cs2d , with new release change all of it , call it with another name like making a mod of it same as "TF2D" or "HF2D" and make a launcher that launch the mods named with "2D launcher" ..

I would write a bigass post, but i'm lazy so i won't

If you're thinking about steam, then the first step would have to be kickstarter. Raise the money to finally finish some of the game problems (other resolutions, compatibility with OS's, some minor and major bugs). Now the "copyright" issue. Changing the game title wouldn't be a problem at all. Just change Counter Strike 2D into CS2D. Everyone would know what's going on, but no one could actually shit about that Money raised from kickstarter would fix some issues as radio voices etc. though it can be even acomplished without money. Just make a contest for cool voice in our community, then record some sentences with that guy. The reward would be simple - your voice in the game. There are plenty men i know in this game with GREAT voice and accent for that. If you don't wanna do it for free, then with money from kickstarter you can pay some voiceactor a proper amount of cash for recording it.
Some copyrights issues would be easy to change (and totally free), the only problem is time.

Someone said, what would be a prize for donations on kickstarer. For example :
- Thank you note,
- Your name as a bot (then bot names would have to be stable),
- vip rank on forum,
- USGN ID of your choice,
- Unique Wallpaper and splash pack,
And i think there are many options of which i did not think right now (it took me 2 minutes to write down these ones).

IF DC would be onboard with kickstarter & steam idea, then we would have to help him as much as we can to make it possible, but IT IS possible to do it such way.

@user GamerNewb: So what? I'm being blunt and honest for a good reason.
Would you rather have the ugly truth or the beautiful lie?

But you talk too harsh, you have to be a little bit polite man

I actually agree with some of the things Milriko said, except the part about VIP rank on the forums, unique splash pack and the USGN choice thingy.

But it kinda doesn't work like that, as DC said, if he were to do that, he would instead rewrite CS2D from scratch with a totally new engine and stuff, as BlitzMax is "bottlenecking" the development.

@user Captione: That's because I want to help them.
While lying will make me look better in the eyes of others, it is unhelpful. People use what seem to be little lies such as "Good job!" and "It's OK to be fat!" just to boost their social status or give themselves a pat on the back because they think they did the right thing by making others feel better about being a failure. However, giving out those little lies will make people think that being a failure is actually good and unique, this is counter-productive and hinders improvement. A good example of this is the SJW bullshit on Tumblr. Another example is the File Archive; contributors that accept criticism tend to submit better files than those who don't.
In short, knowing the truth and applying on it in order to improve is better than feeling good.

@user J192: I think what user Captione says is not "Don't criticize them" but rather "If you're criticizing a person, don't be so harsh"

There's a fine line between too much and not enough. As most users noted, you're obviously on the side of "too much".

I personally wouldn't mind if u spoke to me like that but you got to understand that they're kids with glass hearts so don't break them It won't earn a effect because they will:
> Get pissed (they're kids, you get it)
> Feel bad and leave
> See you as an a-hole and ignore you or start flaming at you
None of the outcomes are good.
If you say things in a more mild way (but still harsh enough), they are MORE LIKELY to understand their mistakes.
